The Boat

The Diamond is a very tough 42’x13' Phil Jones custom bay boat licensed by Maryland to carry up to 6 passengers. The boat is powered by a single 635hp Cummins diesel engine, and can run comfortably at 19 knots. She has a clean fully enclosed head, and can seat 6 comfortably in the spacious cabin.

Planner boards are frequently used when trolling. We use Penn 330 lever drag reels with Penn Senator trolling rods with guide and eye rollers.  For our spinning reels we use Shimano and Shakespear Uglystick rods.  Spinning equipment is spooled with #15 Trilene Big Game and the trolling equipment is spolled with #40 ANDE monofilament.

Convenience features include: AM/FM stereo radio, 12V phone outlet, and wash down pump.

Safety features include: 9 adult and child type 1 life jackets, 30" ring buoy with strobe light, deck lights, several portable fire extinguishers, 2 automatic 2000 gph bilge pumps and a front emergency hatch.
